Summer School Space Ethics

Padova & Asiago (VI)
13 - 17 luglio 2026

The Space Ethics Summer School at the University of Padova offers Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students a unique look into the moral challenges of our presence beyond Earth.

By attending classes, the students will build a strong foundation in applied ethics and address key topics such as space debris, dual-use technologies, and space colonization.
Attendees will engage in debates about the future of nanosatellite constellations, planetary protection, and space as a shared resource, and learn how to balance innovation with responsibility in an increasingly crowded and contested space environment.
During the visit to the Asiago Astronomical Observatory, students will have the opportunity to discuss the ethical frontiers of space research with scientists.
Galileo Galilei's legacy will be explored through immersive visits to historical sites related to his discoveries.
A unique blend of critical thinking, science, and cultural heritage awaits all the participants.
This Summer School is ideal for students, researchers and professionals who are passionate about the future of space.
